Marta Michna (* the thirtieth January 1978 in Głogów as Marta Zielińska ) is a German chess player of Polish origin.

Life

1996 was her most successful year: She received gold for the best board result at the Olympics, was U18 Vice European Champion for girls and U18 World Champion for women in Menorca . She was Polish women's champion in 2003 , European girls' champion U18 in 1995 and European team champion in 2005 with the Polish women's team . At the women's chess world championship in New Delhi in 2000 , she failed in the 2nd round to Yekaterina Kovalevskaya , in 2001 in Moscow she lost in the 2nd round to Almira Scripcenco and in 2006 in Yekaterinburg in the 1st round against Ketewan Arachamia-Grant . In 2014, 2018, 2019 and 2020 she won the German women's blitz championship , and in 2019 the German women's individual championship .

She lives in Hamburg , has four children and has been married to Christian Michna, a FIDE master , since 2006 .

In 1999 she received the title of Women's Grandmaster from FIDE . In December 2016 she was behind Elisabeth Pähtz in second place in the German Elo ranking for women.

Marta Michna took part in seven women's chess Olympiads ; 1996 , 1998 , 2000 and 2004 for Poland, 2008 , 2012 and 2016 for Germany. In 1996 she achieved the best individual result of all reserve players, in 2004 the third best.

At the European Team Championships women she took in 2003 and 2005 for Poland, 2007, 2009, 2011 , 2013 and 2017 for Germany in part. She won the competition in Gothenburg in 2005 .

On December 13, 2017, Michna officially announced her resignation from the national team after there had previously been internal disputes between her and national coach Dorian Rogozenco .

Marta Michna played in the Polish team championship in 1994 and 1996 for MOK Chrobry Głogów , 1999 and 2000 for WKSz Hetman Wrocław , 2001 for KSz Maraton Łomża , 2002 and 2003 for ASSz Miedź Legnica , 2011 for KSz Odrodzenie Kożuchów and 2012 for KSz HetMaN Szopienice . She took part in the 1998 European Women's Club Cup in Wuppertal with Hugart Rybnik .

In Germany she played in the 1998/99 season with SK Zehlendorf in the Oberliga Nord. From the 2005/06 season to the 2015/16 season she played for SK Norderstedt , which played mainly in the 2nd Bundesliga and was part of the 1st Bundesliga in the 2012/13 and 2015/16 seasons . In the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons Michna played in the Oberliga Nord and the 2nd Bundesliga for the chess department of FC St. Pauli , and since the 2018/19 season she has been playing for SG Turm Kiel (mostly in the second team , but it was also used once in the 1st Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season).

Michna played in the women's Bundesliga from 1996 to 2000 for the Rodewisch chess chicks and from 2000 to 2016 for the Hamburg SK . From 2016 to 2019 she was a guest player for SK Doppelbauer Kiel in the 1st and 2nd women's Bundesliga, and in the 2019/20 season she plays for SF Deizisau .
