Zoya Schleining (born Soja Awrumowna Leltschuk , Ukrainian Зоя Аврумовна Лельчук ; born September 6, 1961 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) is a German chess player of Ukrainian origin and since 1985 International Women's Champion (WIM). In 1987 she received the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM) from FIDE .

Zoya Schleining took part in women's championships in the USSR , such as in 1980 in Alma-Ata, 1986 in Frunze and 1989 in Volshski. In 1985 she won a bronze medal in the individual competition at the 1985 Soviet team championship.
In 1990 she was first in the Dresden women's tournament, ahead of Lyudmila Saizewa and Gundula Nehse . In 1990 in Moscow she shared first place with Marta Litinskaya . In 1993 she took part in the Jakarta Women's Interzonal Tournament , which Ketewan Arachamia won. In 1994 she played at the Open German Women's Championship in Wuppertal. In 1994 she got 9 points from 10 games at the international women's tournament in hall. In 1995 she was first in Dresden ahead of Antoaneta Stefanowa , Margarita Wojska and Jordanka Mičić . In 2000 in Bühlertal it was a shared second place behind Joanna Dworakowska , with Natalia Kisseljewa and Alisa Marić . In 2015 Schleining won the German women's championship after winning the German women's rapid chess championship in 2014 .
Since 1997 she has participated in the Post-Open in Düsseldorf with good results. At the open Sodinger rapid chess tournament in 2011 she took third place with 6.5 points, behind Arkadius Georg Kalka and Daniel Hausrath with 8 points each from 9 games.
In January 2016 she is in third place in the German Elo ranking list for women. Schleining has held the title of International Master since September 2016 , and she fulfilled the required standards in March 2012 at the European Women's Championship in Gaziantep and in the 2015/16 season in the German women's Bundesliga.

Zoya Schleining is a member of SV Letmathe , with whom she will play in the NRW class in the 2014/15 season. In the 2013/14 season she played with the Düsseldorf SK 1914/25 in the 2nd Bundesliga West . In the women's Bundesliga she played for SK Turm Emsdetten from 1999 to 2004 , with which she won the championship in 2001 , from 2011 to 2013 for SV Mülheim-Nord , and since 2013 she has played for SF Deizisau .
National team
Zoya Schleining was appointed to the German national team for the first time at the 2013 European Women's Team Championship in Warsaw . On the second board she reached 2.5 points from 6 games. She achieved the same result at the 2014 Chess Olympiad .
