Filiz Osmanodja (born March 7, 1996 in Dresden ) is a German chess player .

Life

She learned to play chess from her father at the age of five and began to play with her brother Bilgin in the USV TU Dresden association . Together with Rasmus Svane , Matthias Blübaum , Dennis Wagner , Alexander Donchenko and Hanna Marie Klek, Osmanodja was a member of the Prinzengruppe, which were looked after by national coach GM Dorian Rogozenco as young German talents . In 2013 she did her Abitur at the Sports High School in Dresden . In 2014 she moved to Berlin to begin her studies in human medicine at the Charité .

successes

Osmanodja has held the title of International Women's Champion (WIM) since 2013 . She all met the required standards in 2012: in May at the Chess Ladies Vienna in Vienna , in July at the Czech Open in Pardubice and in December at the 2nd Erfurt Women's Grandmaster Tournament . In 2008 she became junior vice world champion in Vũng Tàu ( Vietnam ) in the age group U12 women and in 2014 again junior world champion in the age group U18 women in Durban ( South Africa ). In February 2020 Osmanodja was appointed Grand Master of Women (WGM), she fulfilled the required standards at the International German Junior Championship 2015 in Ströbeck , at the European Championship for Women 2018 in Vysoké Tatry and at the Staufer Open 2020 in Schwäbisch Gmünd .

She achieved further international successes as two-time vice European champion for girls at the 2008 European Youth Championships in Herceg Novi ( Montenegro ) in the U12 age group and in Fermo ( Italy ) in the U14 age group in 2009 . In addition, she is six-time German girl champion in 2004, 2005, 2006 (U10), 2008 (U12), 2010 (U14), and 2012 (U16). In 2006 and 2008, for the first time in the history of the German individual youth championships, she was able to win not only the girls' ranking of the U10 and U12, but also the overall tournament for her age group.

Team chess

At the Chess Olympiad 2008 Filiz Osmanodja participated as a reserve player of the third German women's team. She also played in three (2011, 2013 and 2014) women's Mitropacups , in which she and the team achieved second place and twice (2013 and 2014) won the individual ranking on the second board, as well as at the 2015 European Women's Team Championship.

Osmanodja plays mostly in the second team at USV TU Dresden, but she has also played in the first team, including once in the first division in the 2008/09 and 2016/17 seasons . From 2007 to 2009 she also played in the women's Bundesliga with Dresden. Since the 2015/16 season Osmanodja has been active in the women's Bundesliga as a guest player for various clubs; she first played for SF 1891 Friedberg, in the 2016/17 season for SC Bad Königshofen and has been playing for Hamburg SK since the 2017/18 season . In 2017, she played for the Club d'Echecs de Sautron in the French women's team championship .
