Sarah Papp (* 30th April 1988 as Sarah Hoolt in Nordhorn ) is a German chess player . She received the title of International Master (WIM) from FIDE in 2008 and the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM) in 2012 .

Life

Sarah Hoolt grew up in Bad Bentheim , learned to play chess from her parents when she was six and joined her first chess club, SV Bad Bentheim, when she was eight. She studied economics , especially energy and finance , at the University of Duisburg-Essen and graduated in 2013 with the title "Master of Science". Hoolt has been married to the Hungarian grandmaster Gábor Papp since September 2019 .

Single successes

Sarah Hoolt has been playing tournament chess since 1998. From 2001 to 2006 she took part in six German youth championships, the greatest success was winning the U18 (female) championship in 2006. In 2004, Hoolt took part in the U16 (female) world championships, in 2005 and 2006 in the U18 (female) world championships, as well 2007 and 2008 participated in the Junior World Championships.

In 2011 she (picture left) won the German women's individual championship in Bonn .

Sarah Hoolt was appointed WIM at the FIDE Congress in Dresden in November 2008 . She had met the required standards in August 2006 at a First Saturday tournament in Budapest , in August 2007 at the University of 20 Young Masters in Hengelo and in October 2007 at the U20 Girls' World Cup in Yerevan . Before the title was awarded, she fulfilled two other standards in February 2008 at the Open in Cappelle-la-Grande and in May / June 2008 at the Mitropacup in Olbia .

The WGM title was awarded to Sarah Hoolt at the FIDE Congress in Istanbul in September 2012 . She had the necessary standards in February 2008 at the Open in Cappelle-la-Grande, in the German team championship 2010/11 (both her results in the 1st Bundesliga and in the Oberliga NRW were taken into account), in the German women's Bundesliga 2011 / 12 and fulfilled in March 2012 at the Open in Cappelle-la-Grande.

National team

Sarah Hoolt took part in the 2008 , 2010 , 2014 and 2018 Chess Olympiads with the German women's selection. 2011 and 2017 she participated in the European Team Championship part of women. At the women's Mitropacup, Hoolt was part of the German selection in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2015.

Club chess

From 2007 to 2017 Sarah Hoolt played for Sportfreunde Katernberg . She was mainly used in the second team in the Oberliga NRW, but also played in the 1st Bundesliga . In the 2017/18 season, Hoolt played in the 1st Bundesliga for SG Speyer-Schwegenheim , since 2018 she has been playing for Hamburger SK (mostly in the second team in the 2nd Bundesliga , but she had in the 2018/19 season also a use in the 1st Bundesliga).

Hoolt was previously active as a guest player in the women's Bundesliga , she played in the 2007/08 and 2010/11 seasons at TSV Schott Mainz , from 2008 to 2010 at SK Lehrte and since 2011 also at Hamburger SK .

In the Dutch Meester class , Sarah Hoolt played for the Enscheder club ESGOO from 2007 to 2011 , in Austria she plays for ASVÖ Pamhagen , with whom she won the women's team championship in 2019 .
