Schaueregg is a village or a locality and a cadastral municipality in the market town of Pinggau in Styria .
geography
The place is in the uppermost valley of the Pinka , about six kilometers southeast of the Hochwechsel and about eight kilometers north of Friedberg . The Pinka River has its source in the Schaueregg area.
The Wechsel Straße B 54 (formerly: Wechselbundesstraße) leads through Schaueregg . In the neighboring village of diving , the diving-Schaueregg train station is on the Wechselbahn .
Settlement structure
A large part of the settlement area is located at 900 to 1000 m above sea level. A. near the Styrian-Lower Austrian border on the foothills of the change .
The main town is a loosely built clearing settlement and has a high proportion of secondary residences .
The village comprises 147 buildings with 278 residents and a further 95 cases of secondary residences (as of 2001). The cadastral municipality of the same name has an area of 19.5 km², which is about a third of the area of the market town of Pinggau. It extends over 7.5 km northwest and includes the entire headwaters of the Pinka up to the Niederwechsel ( 1669 m above sea level ) and the headwaters of the Alpenbach up to the Hochkogel ( 1314 m above sea level ), the southern pre-summit of the Alternating massif towards the Lafnitztal .
In higher elevations there are two other inhabited settlements: Tränktörl and Neue Glashütte with the forest house of the same name. The old glassworks , on the other hand, is uninhabited and demolished. The local area also includes the individual layers Pfeffergraben, Schwarzsagmeister , the closed inns Fichtenhof and Tränktörlwirt , the Hallerhaus ( 1350 m above sea level ), and the Alm Thalberger Schwaig (with the local name Schwaig ). The at almost 1180 m above sea level. A. Dürrnitz forest hut is not inhabited.
There are numerous weekend houses scattered over the entire area , the rapid spread of which in the second half of the 20th century could only be stopped by restrictive spatial planning .
Isolated dilapidated buildings and the vulgar name Schwarzsagmeister suggest that there were former small sawmills along the Pinka .

The cadastral community of Schaueregg borders in the north-west and north of the cadastral community Mariensee (Gem. Aspangberg-St. Peter ), in the northeast and east Mönichkirchen , in the southeast Wiesenhöf , in the south Baumgarten , in the southwest Hohenau (in the district Dechantskirchen) and on a short stretch of St Lorenzen a. W. and in the west Köppel (both Gem. St. Lorenzen a. W. ).
Culture and sights
In the center of the village there is a chapel of the parish of Pinggau, built in 1948, and on the Thalberger Schwaig there is the Prince Bourbon Parma crypt chapel , burial place of one of those from Bourbon Parma .

Numerous hiking trails lead through the cadastral community of Schaueregg. That on the Mönichkirchner Schwaig at 1350 m above sea level. A. Located Hallerhaus the exchange , one of the Alpine Society D'Haller (The Haller) from 1907 to 1910 built building, is a managed shelter. Mountain bike sport was able to establish itself around the so-called Norwegerhaus (Norge-Universitätshütte) .
