history
The village was first mentioned in documents in 1494, but remained insignificant for a long time. There were two churches in the 17th century. Shiryatino initially belonged to Ujesd Brjansk, then from the 1770s to Ujesd Trubchewsk , which was part of the governorship from 1778 and part of the Orjol governorate from 1796 . In 1920 the place came with the Ujesd to the newly formed Brjansk Governorate , from 1924 as the seat of a Volost in the newly spun off Ujesd Beschiza (today a district of Brjansk).
In 1929 the Volost became a Rajon with its seat in Shiratino, which was dissolved on February 1, 1932 and expelled again on August 21, 1939.
During the Second World War , Shiryatino was occupied by the German Wehrmacht in September 1941 and recaptured by the Red Army on September 19, 1943 .
After it was dissolved again on October 19, 1957, the Rajon has existed in its current form since 1985.
