Rognedino ( Russian Рогне́дино ) is an urban-type settlement in the Bryansk Oblast in Russia with 3158 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 80 km as the crow flies northwest of the administrative center of Bryansk Oblast , a few kilometers from the right Desna tributary Gabja.
Rognedino is the administrative center of the Rajons Rognedinski as well as the seat of the municipality Rognedinskoje gorodskoje posselenije, (km 5 north) which also includes the villages Babitschi, Kletschatowo (6 km northwest), Letoschniki (8 km northwest), Ormino (4 km north), Pazyn (9 km north), Ratovskoye (8 km north-northwest), Staroye Gatkowo (3 km southwest) and Tolvino (11 km north) belong.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1168 after the Kiev Grand Duke Rostislaw Mstislavich had died on the way back from Smolensk to Kiev a year earlier . The name probably refers to Rostislaw's sister Rogneda. From the end of the 18th century the village belonged to the Ujesd Roslavl of the Smolensk governorate and was not far from its border with the Orjol governorate .
In 1929 Rognedino became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after him. During the Second World War , the settlement was occupied by the German Wehrmacht from the end of August 1941 to September 27, 1943.
In 1986 the place received urban-type settlement status.

Regional road 15K-501 leads to Rognedino, which branches off the federal highway R120 Oryol - Bryansk - Smolensk almost 20 km to the south, beyond the neighboring district center of Dubrovka . In Dubrovka there is also the closest railway line to the railway line, which also runs from Oryol via Bryansk to Smolensk. From Rognedino north is about 15K-2102 connector into the well 15 km from settlement Gobiki with a station on the route Sukhinichi - Roslavl.
