The Segeberger Zeitung is a local newspaper in the Segeberg district ( Schleswig-Holstein ). The sold circulation is 9,751 copies, a decrease of 32.7 percent since 1998.

The Segeberger Zeitung was founded in 1826 as the Segeberger Wochenblatt . It has offices in Bad Segeberg , Kaltenkirchen and Bad Bramstedt (editorial only).

The publisher is CH Wäser KG GmbH & Co. This publisher is wholly owned by Kieler Zeitung Verlags- und Druckerei KG GmbH & Co. (including Kieler Nachrichten ). The publishing company Madsack in Hanover has a direct share of 24.5 percent in this publisher and indirectly through the Hanseatische Verlags-Beteiligungs AG, so that Madsack holds a 37 percent share in CH Wäser KG.

Until February 2009, Axel Springer AG held a share of 24.5 percent in the publishing company, which it sold to the Madsack publishing group. The SPD has a 23.08 percent stake in the Madsack Group through its media holding Deutsche Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft .

The Segeberger Zeitung is a member of the BDZV and the Association of German Local Newspapers . The sheet is printed in Berlin format .
