description
The Deister and Weser newspaper appears in the Deister and Weser newspaper publishing company , to which the Schaumburger Zeitung (Rinteln) and the Schaumburg-Lippische Landes-Zeitung (Bückeburg) belong to one hundred percent (which also has the associated Deister-Leine-Zeitung from Barsinghausen their publication on February 29, 2012). In addition, the Dewezet holds a minority share of 20 percent in the Schaumburger Nachrichten ( Stadthagen ). The Dewezet newspaper group is the sixth largest newspaper group in Lower Saxony / Bremen. The independent Neue Deister-Zeitung from Springe and the Leine-Deister-Zeitung from Gronau ( Dirk Ippen publishing group ) cooperate with the Dewezet publishing group in the advertising and supplement business.
The newspaper had its own full editorial team until the end of March 2004 , which means that it not only produced the local section, but also the national politics, business and sports pages itself. In the meantime, there is a large part of a cooperation with the publishing company Madsack in Hanover ( Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung , Neue Presse ), which also holds a minority share in Dewezet. Further cooperation with the publishing company Madsack has existed since 2004 with the advertisement and insert combination "HAZ-Total".
The Deister- und Weserzeitung publishing company originally emerged from the company CW Niemeyer GmbH & Co KG. In 2000, this split into the divisions of newspaper publishing, commercial printing (CWN Druck GmbH) and book publishing ( CW Niemeyer Buchverlage ). CW Niemeyer Service GmbH for administrative services was also created from this breakdown. Despite the division into different parts of the company, the Niemeyer publishing family is still at the top of the group of companies.
CW Niemeyer is one of the older printing companies in Lower Saxony. The print shop was founded by Carl-Wilhelm Niemeyer in Königslutter in 1797 and relocated to Hameln in 1806. The Deister and Weser newspaper first appeared in 1848. The newspaper has been published daily since 1884.
