The Chasseral transmission tower is a 114 meter high transmission tower in concrete / steel construction on the Chasseral in the municipality of Nods near Biel , Switzerland . The Nods Chasseral transmitter (as it is listed in official publications) was built in 1979 and is noticeable due to its clunky construction . The tower went into operation in 1983 and only offers an area accessible to the public at the level of the ground floor. Only the operating floors are housed in the actual tower cage .

In June 2010 the originally 120 meter high tower was rebuilt. As part of this conversion, the top of the transmission mast was shortened by 6 meters by removing the old GRP cylinder.
