Simon Gustafson (born January 11, 1995 in Mölndal ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder made his Allsvenskan debut in 2013 .
Career
Gustafson started playing soccer at Fässbergs IF together with his twin brother Samuel . The brothers won the Gothia Cup on penalties with the U-18 youth team in the summer of 2012 .
In January 2013, the Gustafson brothers left Fässbergs IF together and switched to the first division club BK Häcken . Here Simon quickly established himself in the team, subsequently he was appointed to the Swedish U-21 team in August by selection coach Håkan Ericson . While he was a regular at the club, it took his selection debut until September. This was all the more successful, in the 2-2 draw against the Turkish U-21 national team in the context of qualifying for the U-21 European Championship in 2015 , he scored the equalizer in stoppage time.
In the 2014 season Gustafsson made the breakthrough in his club. With ten goals this season he placed on the one hand among the most successful goal scorers of the championship and on the other hand led the team around Walid Atta , Oscar Lewicki , Martin Ericsson , René Makondele and David Frölund to fifth place in the table. National coach Erik Hamrén honored his good performance and nominated him in December 2014 as one of nine newcomers to the Swedish national team , which will tour the Middle East in January 2015 .
In July 2015, Gustafson moved to Feyenoord Rotterdam .
