Rico Strieder (born July 6, 1992 in Dachau ) is a German soccer player who has been under contract with FC Utrecht since July 1, 2015 .

Career

In 2003, Strieder moved from the football department of TSV Arnbach , from the district of Schwabhausen in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau , to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich . In the 2008/09 season he belonged to the B-Juniors of Bayern and reached the final round of the German championship, in which Bayern lost the final against VfB Stuttgart with 1: 3 after extra time. In the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons he was a member of the A-Juniors and played a total of 27 U-19 Bundesliga games , in which he scored once.

In the 2011/12 season Strieder played for the first time for Bayern's second team in the Regionalliga Süd . He made his debut on August 8, 2011 (1st matchday) in a 2-2 draw against 1. FC Nürnberg II with a substitution in the 60th minute for Toni Vastić . Since the 2012/13 season , FC Bayern Munich II has been playing in the Regional League Bayern due to a league reform . In this division, Strieder scored on October 10, 2012 (15th matchday) in a 3-0 win in the away game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth II with the goal of the interim 2-0 in the 64th minute, his first goal in the senior division. In 2014 he won the championship with the team, but in the promotion round to the 3rd league , Bayern failed after a round trip to Fortuna Köln . Due to a serious hip joint injury, Strieder was out for almost seven months in the 2014/15 season , and he made his comeback in March 2015.

Due to numerous injuries in the professional squad and the championship already won, Strieder was appointed to the first team's squad together with Lukas Görtler from Pep Guardiola on matchday 31 of the 2014/15 season . In the 2-0 defeat at Bayer 04 Leverkusen on May 2, 2015, he was in the starting line-up and made his Bundesliga debut . He was used in the unfamiliar position as a left-back; in the regional league team he usually plays in the defensive midfield.

For the 2015/16 season , the Dutch first division club FC Utrecht signed him with the option of another season. Strieder follows Erik ten Hag , who coached FC Bayern Munich II from 2013 to 2015 . He made his league debut on August 16, 2015 (2nd matchday) in a 1-1 draw in the home game against SC Heerenveen , replacing Bart Ramselaar in the 80th minute. His first goal was the 1-0 winner in the 34th minute on December 5, 2015 (19th matchday) in the away game against BV De Graafschap .
