history

At the end of the 18th century / beginning of the 19th century, Sonnino was the center of the robbery in the Papal State due to its strategic location on the edge of the Papal States to the Kingdom of Naples. Brigantenführer Antonio Gasbarrone, who was immortalized in Carl Millöcker's operetta "Gasparone" only two years after his death in 1882, became famous .
