Sophie Berner
Sophie Berner (born November 26, 1984 in Munich ) is a German singer , actress and musical artist .
Career
After completing secondary school, she first studied musicals from 2003 to 2004 at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in Munich, where she was taught by Kathrin Ackermann (acting) and Marianne Larsen (singing), among others . She played there in several university productions such as West Side Story , Into the Woods and Der kleine Horrorladen .
In 2005, Sophie Berner won the Gisela May Chanson Award as well as a first prize in the singing category at the National Singing Competition in Berlin . Lutz Deisinger, member of the jury for the national competition, hired her for the Berlin bar of every reason . There she played her first major role as Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret , for which she is particularly known to the Berlin audience, from 2006 in a production by Vincent Paterson with Angela Winkler , Maren Kroymann and Regina Lemnitz . In total, she was on stage with the character in changing productions over 700 times, including at the Deutsches Theater in Munich , at the State Theater in Hanover , at the Theater St. Gallen , at the City Theater Gießen and at the Tyrolean State Theater Innsbruck .
Berner could be seen in other roles, among others as Mercédès in Der Graf von Monte Christo at the Theater St. Gallen (2009-2011), as Popess Johanna in the musical Die Päpstin at the Schlosstheater Fulda (2012) and at the Prinzregententheater Munich (2013), as the spider woman in The Spider Woman's Kiss at the Giessen City Theater (2014-2016), as Kate in Kiss me, Kate at the State Theater Nuremberg (2016) and as Grizabella in Cats at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel (2017). She received special attention from 2015 to 2017 with her role as sutler Lara in the pop oratorio Luther .
Berner is also on stage with solo projects. From October 2017 their new program Pure Imagination can be seen in the bar every reason and at other venues. In addition, she is currently gaining her first screen experience while shooting the film Frau Mutter Tier . For Visit Berlin, the organization of the city of Berlin for tourism and congress marketing, she appeared in New York , Moscow and Tel Aviv as the artistic ambassador of the German capital.
