Sportsman of the year 1952 (Germany)

The best German athletes of 1952 were honored by Kurt Dobbratz . The election was organized for the 6th time by the Internationale Sport-Korrespondenz (ISK). A total of 273 sports reporters and editors from West Germany , Berlin , the GDR and Saarland cast their votes. Each sports journalist participating in the election could cast 55 votes: ten for the best German athlete, nine for the second best, eight for the third best, seven for the fourth best, six for the fifth best, etc.

The winner was the automobile racing driver Karl Kling ahead of last year's winner, the married couple Paul Falk and Ria Baran-Falk . The third-placed Edgar Basel was the best amateur athlete .
