The athletes of the year 1972 in the Federal Republic of Germany were honored on December 21st in the Kurhaus Baden-Baden . The election was organized for the 26th time by the Internationale Sport-Korrespondenz (ISK). The participation of 711 sports journalists, radio and television reporters set a new record in voting.
