Sportsman of the year 1947 (Germany)
The best German athletes of 1947 were honored for the first time by Kurt Dobbratz , who had them determined on behalf of the International Sports Correspondence (ISK). Dobbratz asked 20 newspapers published in the four occupation zones by telephone .
The first prizewinner was “Tennis Baron” Gottfried von Cramm , the best woman was the athlete Marga Petersen in 11th place, who is considered “Sportswoman of the Year” according to modern interpretation.
