Springfield is a city in Bay County in the US state of Florida with 8903 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Springfield is bordered by the cities of Parker , Callaway and Panama City and is approximately 150 km west of Tallahassee .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 8,903 inhabitants were distributed over 4,238 households. The population density was 794.9 inh / km². 66.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 23.8% as African-Americans , 0.7% as Indians and 3.8% as Asian Americans . 2.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.8% to several ethnic groups. 5.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 33.8% of all households and people aged 65 or over lived in 23.7% of all households. 63.5% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.07.
27.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 28.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 25.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 18.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 35 years. 49.4% of the population were male and 50.6% were female.
The median annual income was $ 36,693, with 21.5% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 92.74% of the population, 3.01% spoke Vietnamese and 4.25% had another mother tongue.

The city is crossed by US Highway 98 ( SR 30A ) and Florida State Roads 22 and 389 . The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is located about 40 km northwest of the city.

The crime rate in 2010 was 423 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There was one murder, five rapes, ten robberies, 43 assaults, 126 break-ins, 208 thefts, 19 car thefts and one arson.
