The Roman Catholic branch church of St. Martin and St. Nikolaus in Pram , a district of the municipality of Bayerbach near Ergoldsbach in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut , is a Baroque hall church that was built in 1758. The apse of the Romanesque predecessor church was included. The church is a monument of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation with the number D-2-74-119-20.

location

The church is located in the center of Pram, which is about three kilometers southeast of the core town of Bayerbach, halfway from Mausham to Mühlhausen .

history

In the year 733 gave a certain Poso his possessions in Prama at the Freisinger Church . 791 a possibly different Poso donated his possessions in Prama to St. Emmeram in Regensburg . The Church of St. Mr. Sand Martan is the first time on April 10, 1496 in documents mentioned. The current building was erected in 1758 while retaining Romanesque parts such as the tower and apse and renovated in 1909.

Exterior construction

The nave has an axis with ogival windows that were shaped like a bass violin in the Baroque period. The retracted choir with a yoke closes in a semicircular apse. The roof turret above the apse has a square shape on the first floor . Above it, it turns into an octagonal tower in which the bell chamber is located with two bells . The roof turret is crowned with an onion dome above a surrounding cornice . You enter the church via a segmental arched portal on the south side of the nave .

inner space

The choir and the nave are flat-roofed and provided with a circumferential groove . The sacristy is in a small semicircular room behind the high altar ; it has a small window on the east side. The choir is almost square in shape; the side walls are, however, slightly rounded. The nave is rounded at the eastern corners. In the west is the organ loft with a straight parapet , which is additionally lit by a arched window on the west facade.

Furnishing

Most of the baroque furnishings date from the middle of the 18th century.

High altar

The high altar with two round columns on high plinths was built around 1680. The altar sheet shows a replica of the Passau Mariahilf picture from the Passau pilgrimage church Mariahilf . At the feet of Mary who are bishops St. Martin and St. Nicholas with its attributes shown. In the excerpt , the oval picture between volutes shows God the Father on a cloud. Below that the Holy Spirit is shown in the form of a dove . In the middle of the tiered predella is a baroque crucifix . Small, gold-framed reliquary shrines are set up on both sides .

A painting of is at the flat ceiling of the choir Lamb of God on the book with seven seals , which the Apocalypse in the Book of Revelation suggests. The Holy Trinity is depicted in the large ceiling painting in the nave . God the Father and God the Son sit on a cloud above the sphere, above the Holy Spirit in the form of a white dove hovers in a halo. On the north side under the gallery hangs a picture of St. Joseph with the baby Jesus in a simple wooden frame.

characters

At the choir arch there is a baroque crucifix in the three-nail type on a trefoil cross. On the wall brackets in the rounded corners in the east of the nave there are carved figures of Maria Immaculata and Saint Martin, who can be recognized by his attributes of goose and crosier. A small figure of St. Sebastian is attached to the parapet of the west gallery.

Way of the Cross

On the walls of the choir and nave there are fourteen cross- path panels in curved frames.

organ

The organ with pedal mechanism is on the west gallery. The organ prospect is divided into two fields with wooden pipes and three fields with metal pipes.
