Haus Steinweg 51 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The house in the historic Quedlinburg Neustadt is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . In the house is the Garni -Hotel "Dorothea Christiane Erxleben".

Architecture and history

The simple two-storey half - timbered house was built in 1705. In 1715 Dorothea Christiane Erxleben , the first German doctor, was born in the house . The name of the hotel today goes back to this fact. Around 1780 the building was converted in the late baroque style . Other information classify the renovations as new buildings.

The house was redesigned in the 19th century, in line with the taste of the time.

In 1997 there were plans to set up a memorial for Dorothea Christiane Erxleben in the house. The hotel, which is now operated in the same building, has 6 double rooms and an apartment.
