The district of Munich-Mitte (district 109) is a Bavarian district that was newly formed for the 2018 state election. The reason for this was the significantly increased population in Munich.
It is one of the nine electoral districts of the city of Munich in the constituency of Upper Bavaria for elections to the Bavarian State Parliament and the District Parliament of Upper Bavaria and includes the districts of Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt and Schwanthalerhöhe , as well as parts of Au-Haidhausen and Untergiesing-Harlaching .

The new constituency is represented in the state parliament by the first directly elected constituency member Ludwig Hartmann (Greens), who has been a member of parliament since 2008. The former Green MP Claudia Stamm, who stood for her new party “courage”, failed with this at the 5% hurdle and therefore left the state parliament.
