history
The mill was also called the grain mill and was owned by the Heilsbronn monastery . In the Thirty Years War it became deserted. In the 18th century it was also used to “beat oil”.
Towards the end of the 18th century, the Straussmühle belonged to Neuhof. The mill had the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste office Neuhof as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Bayreuth, the Straussmühle was given house number 21 in Neuhof.
As part of the municipal edict, Straussmühle was assigned to the Neuhof an der Zenn tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the municipal community of Neuhof an der Zenn, founded in 1813 (from 1818 rural community Neuhof).
