history
The place is first mentioned in 1260 as "Winrichsbach". The monastery Heilsbronn received as compensation from the viscount Konrad I. including the then desolate Winrichsbach. In the meantime the monastery must have sold this property. In 1440 it was bought back by the Nuremberg citizen Sebald Scheuer. In this purchase letter the estate is called "Wintersbach" or "Rothen Herberg". The court was spared during the Thirty Years' War . Rothenhof was on the trade route between Nuremberg and Rothenburg ob der Tauber exactly in the middle and played an important role as a dump. The current main building was built in 1719.
Towards the end of the 18th century, Rothenhof (also called Wintersbach) consisted of 1 courtyard with an inn and a brewery. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The Neuhof caste office was the landlord of the property .
As part of the municipal edict, Rothenhof was assigned to the Neuhof an der Zenn tax district formed in 1811 . It belonged to the rural community of Oberfeldbrecht, founded in 1813 . On January 4, 1821, the place was assigned to the rural community of Unternbibert , but this had to be reversed on April 15, 1822 after an objection by the residents. On January 1, 1972, Rothenhof was incorporated into Neuhof an der Zenn as part of the regional reform .
