Vockenroth is a district of the Neuhof an der Zenn market in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district , Middle Franconia .

geography

To the north-west of the hamlet lies the Fichtlein forest area , and about 1 km to the east is the Sandbühl . A community road leads to Neuselingsbach (1.1 km northeast) or to state road 2413 near Neuhof an der Zenn (1 km southeast).

history

The place was 1145/53 in a bull of Pope Eugene III. In addition to other places mentioned for the first time by name, in which the Heilsbronn monastery was guaranteed possessions. The monastery had a forest of 650 acres there. It also acquired farms there. These were spared during the Thirty Years' War .

The place name broadcast "–roth" shows that the place was created by clearing , probably in the 9th / 10th. Century.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were three properties in Vockenroth (2 courtyards, 1 estate). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The Neuhof caste office held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .

As part of the municipal edict, Vockenroth was assigned to the Neuhof an der Zenn tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the municipal community of Neuhof an der Zenn, founded in 1813 (from 1818: rural community Neuhof).

The place has been predominantly Evangelical-Lutheran since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Kilian (Neuhof an der Zenn) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Michael (Wilhermsdorf) .
