geography

The village lies on the Selingsbach, which is a left tributary of the Zenn . Approx. The Fichtlein forest area is 0.5 km west of the village , while the Sandbühl is to the south . Neuselingsbach can be divided into two parts of the village: the town center in the south and the former weekend area in the north, in which there are still a few weekend houses, but mostly now owner-occupied houses. The place is affected by the state road 2255 , which leads to Neuziegenrück (0.6 km northwest) or to state road 2413 (0.9 km southeast). A community road leads past the Röschenmühle to Altselingsbach (1.7 km northwest) or to St 2413 (0.8 km south). Another community connecting road leads to Vockenroth (1 km southwest).

history

The place (like Neukatterbach and Neuziegenrück ) was founded in the 17th century by Austrian (and Swiss) religious refugees.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were six properties in Neuselingsbach (1 mill, 5 houses). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The Neuhof caste office held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .

The place was also known as the Buckmühle .

As part of the community edict, Neuselingsbach was assigned to the Neuhof an der Zenn tax district formed in 1811 . It belonged to the municipality of Neuhof an der Zenn, founded in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818) it was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community of Neuziegenrück . On January 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria , Neuselingsbach was incorporated into Neuhof an der Zenn.

In Neuselingsbach there is still an old mill that sawed wood and ground flour using water power. The mill is around 300 years old. The exact age is not known, in addition, the main building and some outbuildings are extremely dilapidated, but it is one of the two oldest buildings in Neuselingsbach, the second and much older building is the main house of the local restaurant Hammer, according to historical sources it was For a long time it was a station for carriages and stagecoaches to change horses for the climb to Markt Erlbach , but over time it was converted into an inn.
