Thälendorf is a district of the town of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

geography

The village is located at an altitude of about 350 m above sea ​​level at the foot of the 460 m high forest mountain and has 125 inhabitants. The Forstberg is made of shell limestone and lies on the Ilm-Saale-Platte . The village and its surroundings are densely wooded. On the Schönefeld plateau to the north of the village, farmers from the village cultivate land, according to tradition there were once bustards there .

history

On April 19, 1227 the village was first mentioned in a document as Thaldorf . Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

Economy and Infrastructure

The village can only be reached via a single road that leads to the B 88 , which is about four kilometers to the south . The B 88 connects Ilmenau in the west with Rudolstadt in the east. The closest train station, Quittelsdorf, is on the main road on the Erfurt – Arnstadt – Rottenbach – Bad Blankenburg – Saalfeld line.
