Life

The Game (2011)

The Game is from Compton , which is notorious for more than three decades of high crime rates, mostly from gangs . He joined one of these gangs, the Bloods , and led a life that is common for gang members. In 2001 he was shot 5 times and was in a coma for 3 days in his apartment, which he also used to sell drugs to finance his relatively expensive lifestyle. While recovering from his injuries, he set a goal of becoming a successful rapper. Dr. Dre , who is also from Compton, heard him on a mixtape and even before The Game got out of the hospital, he had signed him to his label Aftermath Entertainment . Dre thought it best if he came to the G Unit because he and 50 Cent had a similar past. There he released his widely heralded debut album The Documentary on January 18, 2005 , which became a huge hit . Soon after, however, 50 Cent threw him out of the crew for “lack of loyalty”. This was followed by a public dispute that is still ongoing.

Since July 29, 2006 The Game is no longer under contract with G Unit / Aftermath, but with Geffen Records . Snoop Dogg , Mos Def , Slim Thug and Mary J. Blige have signed with this label .

The Game released his second album Doctor's Advocate on November 10, 2006 , which was originally due to be released on June 6, 2006, in the USA on November 14, 2006. For the successor to The Documentary , he recorded tracks with producers Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Cool & Dre , Scott Storch and Just Blaze . Still, The Game didn't take a single song by Dr. Dre on his album. According to him, not because he differed from Dr. Dre separated, but so that no one could claim that the album would be so successful because of Dr's help. The album sold in the first week 358,000 times and ended on 22 November 2006 at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200. From the New York Times it was with Hip Hop Is Dead by Nas named the best album of 2006.

In April 2007 the mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 4 was released , on which he announced at the end of the last track that he would take six months off and take care of his son and the birth of his second son. In February 2008, he was sentenced to 60 days in prison, three years probation and 150 hours of community service for illegally possessing weapons. At Nas' New Year's Eve party in 2007, he confirmed that he would release his next album called LAX in the summer of 2008 . Among others, Dr. Dre, Cool & Dre and Scott Storch involved. In March 2008, there was initially talk of a publication in June, which was ultimately postponed to July 22, 2008. The first single is called Big Dreams and was released on March 18th. Game's Pain followed in May , which he recorded with Keyshia Cole .

After previous reports that LAX The Games would be the final album, he announced in May 2009 that his fourth solo album would be released at the end of the year and would be titled The RED Album . He has meanwhile confirmed that he has already worked with producers Timbaland and Drumma Boy . The release of the album was postponed to the first quarter of 2010. The release was initially postponed due to a legal dispute between Universal Music and Desperado Entertainment. The RED album was finally released on August 23, 2011.

In 2010 he was signed again by Aftermath. He deleted The from his name .

On December 11, 2012 Game released his fifth studio album under the title Jesus Piece , which was produced by Cool & Dre and others and included songs with Rick Ross , Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar .

In 2015, the albums The Documentary 2 and The Documentary 2.5 followed within a week as a sequel to his debut album. In 2016, The Game finally released his eighth solo album in 1992 .

The Games ninth solo album Born 2 Rap was released on November 29, 2019 and is, according to his own statement, his last.

Dispute with G Unit

The controversy began shortly after the Games' debut album was released. The Game did not bow to 50 Cent's will, whereupon 50 Cent dismissed him. He then released several disstracks , including the 18-minute freestyle disstrack 300 Bars and Runnin and a DVD entitled Stop Snitchin, Stop Lyin , in which he explains the reasons for the argument and his view of things about 50 Cent and G Unit and extremely mocked them, including stealing 50 cents basketball hoop. A mixtape of the same name was also released, on which more disstracks from The Game and the Black Wall Street crew can be found. The dispute continues to this day. In early 2007, several rumors circulated that the dispute would end, as rapper Busta Rhymes announced in an interview that he wanted to bring both sides back together, and The Game also said in several interviews that he did not want to go into the dispute any further. Things took an abrupt turn when Tony Yayo slapped The Games Manager's 14-year-old son, Jimmy Rosemond, in New York in March 2007 for wearing a "Czar Entertainment" T-shirt. He was arrested and the boy testified that 50 Cent was also present, but he vehemently denies this. As a result, there was an "anti-G-Unit demonstration" in New York. A few days later, The Game released a new Disstrack in which he indirectly threatens Tony Yayo and 50 Cent with death. Even G-Unit rapper Young Buck condemned Tony Yayo's action. In the meantime the dispute has subsided a little.

The Black Wall Street & Czar Squad DJ's

The Game founded The Black Wall Street Records to promote Compton artists. The label became a success and The Game expanded it to include The Black Wall Street East , headquartered in New Jersey. In February 2007, The Black Wall Street Europe was also founded.

Parallel to Black Wall Street , The Game founded a DJ crew called Czar Squad DJ’s in April 2007 together with its manager and founder of Czar Entertainment, Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond . The team consists of 18 DJs from the USA, Canada and Europe. They include DJ Kris-Stylez (DJ from The Game), DJ MarvLS (DJ from Diddy ), DJ Strong, Babey Drew (DJ from Chris Brown) and DJ Maaleek.

More productions

At the end of 2004, The Game released its first single: How We Do feat. 50 cents. In January 2005, it rose from 0 to number 6 on the Billboard charts in the United States.

In the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas , he lends his voice to the character "Mark Wayne" (aka B Dup).

On January 18, 2005, The Games' first album The Documentary landed at number 1 on the Billboard Top 200. It sold 587,000 times in the first week. It also made it to number 7 in the UK charts. So far the album has been sold over five million times.

He played his first leading role in the film Waist Deep (2006), in which he played an unscrupulous drug lord. Further leading roles in feature films followed.

In early 2013, The Game published his fitness program 60 Days of Fitness , which he originally developed together with the American fitness trainer Byrd. Only one year later he changed his trainer and entered into a partnership with the German Youtuber and fitness coach Stefan Weissgerber, who added the area of nutrition and reduced the complexity of the exercises.

In 2016, The Game released a song with Lorine Chia called Rest in Purple , which is based on When Doves Cry by Prince and pays homage to the musician who died in April 2016.
