Thomas Hangweyrer

Thomas "Tom" Hangweyrer (* 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musician , music manager , journalist , film and music video director.

Life

At the age of 16, immediately after leaving the Vienna Boys' Choir , Hangweyrer and a friend produced the short film Dreamers , which was shown at the Diagonale , the festival of Austrian film, in 2006. It was there that the film director Peter Kern became aware of the young Hangweyrer and shortly afterwards gave him a job as editor in the production of the documentary Just no pity , which u. a. at the Viennale 2007 and the Diagonale 2008 . Hangweyrer later worked with Kern on the film Murder Sisters , for which he also stood in front of the camera for the first time and contributed music. Parallel to his work as an assistant director at Rockhard Films in Los Angeles (video work for Foo Fighters, Rihanna, Katy Perry and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others), Hangweyrer founded his own film production company Tehafilm, which specializes in indie / alternative music videos , and offers services in the field of cinema / TV film. There were u. a. Videos produced by The Beth Edges , Clara Luzia , Garish , Herbstrock and Ja, Panik .

Thomas Hangweyrer is the singer, guitarist and songwriter of the band The Boys You Know , which has been represented on the Viennese indie label Living Room Records and the Japanese record company Vinyl Junkie Records since 2012 . From 2017 to 2018 he wrote a regular music column for Red Bull .

Since 2017, Thomas Hangweyrer has been the A&R manager at Living Room Records and heads the concert agency Living Room Booking.
