Men

Clubs of the table tennis Bundesliga in the 2014/2015 season

The men's season started on August 23, 2014 with the game between defending champions Borussia Düsseldorf and TTC matec Frickenhausen (3-0) and ended on May 24, 2015 with Borussia Düsseldorf's 3-1 final victory over TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell . Ten teams took part. The best four teams after the end of the regular season took part in the play-off rounds to determine the German champions. The ninth and tenth placed teams should be relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. In January 2015, however, it was announced that Frickenhausen would withdraw from the 1st Bundesliga for financial reasons, at the same time, with ASV Grünwettersbach, only one second division club applied for the first division license necessary for promotion, which meant that no other club had to relegate - neither the Ninth Hagen nor the Tenth Mulhouse.

Fortuna Passau (second 2. BL) renounced promotion to the 1st Bundesliga .

Play-offs

The semi-final first leg took place on April 11th and the second leg on April 19th.

Against defending champion Düsseldorf Saarbrücken managed a completely surprising victory in the first leg with 3-0 (9: 4 sets), during which Bojan Tokič triumphed over world number seven Timo Boll . In the second leg, Saarbrücken would have won a single or a total of five sets for the final. However, Düsseldorf still managed to turn the semi-finals and win the second leg 3-0 (9-3 sets). Fulda won both the first leg and the second leg, in which Grenzau's top player Andrej Gaćina was missing (he was injured half an hour before the start of the game), just 3-2.

The final took place on May 24th in the Fraport Arena in Frankfurt . As in the previous year, Borussia Düsseldorf won 3-1 and became German champions for the 27th time.
