The 10th stage of the Tour de France 2009 on July 14th, a decidedly flat stage, led over 194.5 km from Limoges to Issoudun . It contained 3 intermediate sprints and 3 mountain ratings of the 4th category. The field caught up with the small breakaway group 1700 m from the finish. In the sprint of the field, Mark Cavendish clearly won ahead of Thor Hushovd.

Based on the deliberations of the tour managers, this stage was carried out on a trial basis without radio traffic together with the World Association of Cyclists.
