The Sportclub Alstertal-Langenhorn e.V. (also called SCALA for short ) is the largest sports club in the Hamburg-Nord district with (as of April 1, 2020) over 7,700 members. The club is designed for mass sport .

history

The entire history of the club goes back to 1909, when the FTSV Fichte Langenhorn workers' sports club was founded. One year later, the Langenhorn TSV was launched. Like all workers' sports clubs, Fichte Langenhorn was banned by the National Socialists in 1933, but was re-established after the end of Nazi rule. Both Langenhorn clubs merged in 1974 to form SC Langenhorn . In 2002 this SC Langenhorn merged with the neighboring TuS Alstertal from Fuhlsbüttel to form SC Alstertal-Langenhorn .

The greatest successes of one of the three predecessor clubs were the two championship titles of the Alstertal women in large field handball in 1951 and 1952.

basketball

2011/12 season

The first women's team plays in the second regional league. A large number of the players are used in cooperation with SC Rist-Wedel in the 2nd women's basketball league (DBBL).

2008/09 season

The first women's team plays in the Regionalliga Nord and reached first place there in the 2008/09 season. The first men's team rose from the Hamburg city league to the major league.

Handball

The sport of handball was particularly well represented at the TuS Alstertal . Already in 1951 and 1952 the women became German champions on the large field . After several decades in the depths of lower-class sport, the first women's team rose to the second division for the first time in 1986 . You had to dismount directly, but returned in 1988. This time the Fuhlsbüttler women were better equipped: They immediately won the runner-up and thus the direct promotion to the indoor handball league . There the team was overwhelmed, however, and with only five points from 22 games, the last place was followed by relegation. The Fuhlsbüttler women were able to hold their own in the second division until 1994, but were then relegated back to the regional league. After the 1999/2000 season, TuS Alstertal then rose from the Regionalliga-Nord to the fourth-class league.

After the club merger, SCALA was promoted to the regional league in 2005 and 2007, from which they were always relegated immediately. In 2010, as champions of the Oberliga Hamburg, the team missed qualification for the third division in two relegation games (23:21 and 27:31) against TSV Altenholz . In 2018 SCALA rose directly to the 3rd division after winning the Oberliga championship.

athletics

Athletics was traditionally held in high esteem in all three founding clubs. Especially in the twenty years after the Second World War, there were also national successes by members of the TuS Alstertal, so Elfriede Möller was able to achieve the runner-up title over 100 meters at the German Athletics Championships in 1946 behind serial winner Marga Petersen from Werder Bremen . Two years later she won bronze over the same route. In 1961, 1963, 1964 and 1965, Antje Gleichfeld was German champion over 800 meters, in 1958 and 1965 over 400 meters. Her club mate Karin Kessler followed her in 1966 and 1967.

The athletics community LG Alsternord Hamburg has been a 40-year cooperation between the TuRa Harksheide, 1. SC Norderstedt and SC Alstertal-Langenhorn clubs . It was the first such cooperation across federal states.

Soccer

The football department, which was able to play in Hamburg's top division for the first time in 1949/50 , but was directly relegated again, has a high priority in the club . With the resurgence for the 1961/62 season, the most successful period of football began in Langenhorn. In 1968 the Langenhorn TSV qualified for the DFB Cup. In the first round, however, came the end against SC Sperber from neighboring Alsterdorf . In 1969 and 1970 the LTSV was even able to become Hamburg champions, but failed on promotion. In the first year after the merger with Fichte Langenhorn, SC Langenhorn was relegated, but was able to return to the highest Hamburg class for the 1991/92 season, which they only had to leave in 2000. 2000/01 was the SCL in the Landesliga Hammonia with zero points and 18: 163 goals knocked down last, in the following season the first team announced from play in the district league, only in 2002/03 the new club SC Alstertal-Langenhorn went to District league (8th league in the league system) again on the hunt for points. From 2007/08 the club played in the district league Hamburg Nord (7th division) and in 2011 made it to the state league (6th division). In the 2012/2013 season, the team was able to qualify for the Oberliga Hamburg with a second place in the "Landesliga Hammonia" for the season 13/14, from which the SCALA promptly relegated.

The second team from SCALA also achieved promotion in 2011, namely from the district class to the district league (8th division) and rose further in 2013 to the district league North. After the Hamburg A-youth championship in 2009/2010, SC Alstertal-Langenhorn reported a team in the A-youth regional league for the first time , but was relegated again in 2011.
