Utzenmühle (dialect: "uds ɒ mǖl") is a district of the city of Wolframs-Eschenbach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Eschenbach (here called Gänsbach), which is a right tributary of the Erlbach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Franconian Rezat . The Hartbächlein flows into the Eschenbach as a right tributary. Approx. The Flügelsberg ( 438  m above sea level ) rises 0.75 km to the southwest .

Utzenmühle is on the state road 2220 , which leads to Wolframs-Eschenbach (1.8 km to the west) or past the Sallmannshof and the Bölleinsmühle to Ismannsdorf (1.8 km to the east).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in the Salbuch of the Teutonic Order Coming Nuremberg from 1343 in the description of the Eschenbach office as "Bonmul". The defining word can be the surname Bon, which is attested for this area at this time. It is also conceivable that the defining word is the Middle High German word "bōne" (= bean ). At that time, broad beans were grown in large fields as animal feed. In 1503/05 the place was mentioned as "Schules mül", in 1601 as "Schuelenßmmuhln". Here the defining word is probably the family name Schühlein.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, a team was recorded for the "Schillingßmühl" that was subordinate to the Eschenbach municipal bailiff. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach .

In 1643 it was referred to as "Vtz or Schüelenß Mühl", and in 1686 as "Uetznmühl". It is probably named after Johann Vetz, who was named as miller of this property in 1622.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Utzenmühle was house number 4 in the village of Sallmannshof . Like the whole town, the estate was owned by the Eschenbach District Bailiwick as the landlord . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Utzenmühle was assigned to the Sauernheim tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Sauernheim, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Utzenmühle was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community Reutern . This was incorporated into Wolframs-Eschenbach on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform.
