VSB Poetry Prize
The VSB Poetry Prize (Dutch: VSB Poëzieprijs) is a Dutch literature prize for the best Dutch-language poetry book of the previous year. The prize is awarded annually; it was set up in 1994 by the VSBfonds foundation . The initiative for the award comes from Huub Oosterhuis and the prize money is 25,000 euros.
The jury of the VSB Poëzieprijs Foundation in 2016 consists of Willem Bijleveld (Director of the Dutch Openluchtmuseum), Yra van Dijk (Professor of Modern Dutch Literature), Gerdi Verbeet (Chairwoman of the Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal), Odile Heynders (Professor of Comparative Literature) . In 2016, Kees' t Hart was appointed chairman.
VSB Poetry Prize on tour
Before the annual award ceremony at the end of January in the auditorium of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen , the five nominated poets will present their works in various cities in the Netherlands and Flanders at the “VSB Poetry Prize on Tour” event .
