Videoart at Midnight in the Babylon cinema

Videoart at Midnight is an international forum dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art , in particular film , media art and video art in Berlin. Every month, works by international artists are shown in the great hall of the Babylon cinema in the Berlin-Mitte district .

background

Videoart at Midnight is a private initiative that was founded by Olaf Stüber in 2008 and has been run together with Ivo Wessel ever since. Once a month on a Friday, always at midnight, the organizers invite artists to show their works in the “ Dispositiv Kino” on the big screen and to put them up for discussion. Every evening is dedicated to the works of an artist. The artists are regularly present. Often world premieres are shown and sometimes accompanying live acts such as performances, concerts or artist talks. The aim of Videoart at Midnight is to offer a platform for a medium that is becoming increasingly important in the context of contemporary art production and at the same time to provide an insight into Berlin's international art scene.

Videoart at Midnight is a non-commercial cultural event series.
