Viroinval is a municipality in the province of Namur in the Walloon part of Belgium .

It consists of the localities of Dourbes, Le Mesnil, Mazée, Nismes, Oignies-en-Thiérache, Olloy-sur-Viroin, Treignes and Vierves-sur-Viroin. The municipal administration is located in Nismes. Vierves-sur-Viroin is one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia .

In the municipal area river unite Eaux Noire (black water) and Eau Blanche (white water) to the flow Viroin , the km to 22 on the French territory in vireux-molhain opens as left tributary in the Maas. The place name is a shortened variant of Vallée du Viroin , in German Valley of the Viroin .

From 1995 to 2004 Viroinval was the geographical center of the European Union with 15 member states ( location ). 50.007066 4.667488

A community partnership exists with the German community of Kleinmaischeid in Rhineland-Palatinate , which from May 1, 2004 to January 1, 2007 was the geographical center of the 25 member states of the European Union .
