Vito Taccone
Vito Taccone (born May 6, 1940 in Avezzano ; † October 15, 2007 ibid) was an Italian cyclist.
Professional since 1961, Taccone was called "il camoscio d'Abruzzo" - the Abruzzo chamois - because of his qualities as a climber and because of his impetuous character .

- 1966 - Trofeo Matteotti
- 1961 and 1963 - Green jersey as the best in points at the Giro d'Italia .
In 1964, at the Tour de France, he was accused of causing falls due to his confusing driving style. As a result, he refused to take part in the 'tour' again.
After his career ended, he remained a respected businessman in his home region as a retailer for sportswear. In June 2007, however, he was embroiled in a scandal in which a group of twelve people were accused of selling counterfeit or stolen branded goods. Vito Taccone died in October 2007 at his home in Avezzano of complications from a heart attack.
