Francisco Galdós Gauna (born May 6, 1947 in Lasarte-Vitoria ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Career

Fracisco Galdós began his career in 1969 with the Spanish team KAS . A year earlier he had already won the Mallorca Tour and the Vuelta a Cantabria . He proved to be a good rider in the mountains and was able to compete in the Tour de France in his first year as a professional . In 1970 he won the Tour of Catalonia . His most successful year, however, came four years later. In 1975 he won the Tour de Romandie and the 21st stage of the Giro d'Italia on the Stilfser Joch . He was also able to wear the pink jersey for ten days on this tourIn the end, he won the mountain classification together with his teammate Andrés Oliva and came second in the overall classification. In 1979 he was once again able to reach the podium in a big tour in the country tour in his home country, finishing second. In 1980 he ended his career.

In total, he rode eleven times in the Tour de France, six times in the Giro d'Italia and four times in the Tour of Spain.
