Giovanni Valetti

Giovanni Valetti (born September 22, 1913 in Vinovo , † March 28, 1998 in Avigliana ) was an Italian cyclist .

In 1938 he won the Tour de Suisse with a lead of 12:49 minutes over Arsène Mersch from Luxembourg. His greatest success was winning twice the overall ranking of the Giro d'Italia in 1938 and 1939. The Second World War ended his active career as a racing driver. He joined the partisans who were fighting Mussolini. After the Second World War, he remained involved in cycling as a chauffeur and team helper.
