Stefano Pirazzi (born March 11, 1987 ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Stefano Pirazzi won a stage with the national team at the Giro delle Regioni in 2007 . Later he was able to win two parts of the Volta Ciclista Internacional a Lleida .

In 2010 he joined the Professional Continental Team Colnago-CSF Inox , with which he stayed until 2017.

From 2010 to 2017 he competed eight times in a row at the Giro d'Italia , in 2013 he won the mountain classification . At the Giro d'Italia 2014 he was on one stage.

After Pirazzi, like his teammate Nicola Ruffoni, tested positive for a derivative of banned growth hormones , the UCI was temporarily banned from the UCI on suspicion of doping one day before the start of the Giro d'Italia 2017 . At the beginning of October 2017, Pirazzi was banned from the UCI for four years. He had already been sacked by his Bardiani team.
