The constituency of Hoyerswerda ( Upper Sorbian Wólbny wokrjes Wojerecy ; constituency 52) was a state electoral district in Saxony until 2014 . Most recently it included the large district town of Hoyerswerda and the communities of Elsterheide , Lohsa , Spreetal in the district of Bautzen . In the last state election in 2009, 43,897 residents were entitled to vote.

The area of ​​the former constituency has been part of the Bautzen 4 constituency since 2014 .

The constituency of Hoyerswerda continued to include the city of Hoyerswerda and now also the communities of Elsterheide , Lohsa and Spreetal in the Kamenz district . Of the 46,481 eligible voters, 56.7% cast their votes. 2.3% of the votes cast were invalid. Dietmar Jung (PDS) was chosen as a direct candidate . He achieved 36.2% of all valid first votes. This was the first direct mandate for the party Die Linke outside the major Saxon cities.

Election 1999 (constituency 55 - Hoyerswerda)

The third state election after the fall of the Wall took place on September 19, 1999. The constituency of Hoyerswerda continued to include only the city of Hoyerswerda, but since the last state election the previously independent communities of Schwarzkollm , Zeißig and Dörgenhausen had been incorporated. Of the 44,318 eligible voters, 53.5% cast their votes. 1.4% of the votes cast were invalid. Wolfgang Schmitz (CDU) was chosen as a direct candidate . It achieved 42.9% of all valid first votes.

The second state election after the fall of the Wall took place on September 11, 1994. The constituency of Hoyerswerda continued to include only the city of Hoyerswerda, but since the last state election, the previously independent communities of Bröthen and Knappenrode had been incorporated. Of the 46,889 eligible voters, 49.5% cast their votes. 0.9% of the votes cast were invalid. Werner Klinnert (CDU) was again elected as a direct candidate . However, he only achieved 33.0% of all valid votes and was just 0.2% ahead of the SPD candidate.

Election 1990 (constituency 25 - Hoyerswerda I)

The first state election after reunification took place on October 14, 1990. The constituency of Hoyerswerda I only included the city of Hoyerswerda with the territorial status of October 1990. Of the 48,601 eligible voters, 55.3% cast their votes. 2.6% of the votes cast were invalid. Werner Klinnert (CDU) was chosen as a direct candidate . He received 38.5% of all valid votes.
