Together with Selmigerheide, Weetfeld is part of the Westphalian town of Hamm . It is still a rural place to this day.

Weetfeld is located in the south of the city of Hamm. In the south, the A 2 forms the border.

Neighboring communities

In 1967, Weetfeld bordered in a clockwise direction in the west on the communities Pelkum , Wiescherhöfen, Berge and Freiske (all today to Hamm) and Osterbönen and Westerbönen (both today to Bönen ).

history

Weetfeld part in the establishment of offices in the Prussian province of Westphalia to the Office Pelkum in district Hamm . On the occasion of the city of Hamm on April 1, 1901, the district became the district of Hamm. After an area expansion in 1929, this was renamed the Unna district in October 1930 .

On January 1, 1968, the communities of Herringen, Lerche, Pelkum, Sandbochum and Weetfeld and parts of Wiescherhöfen were merged to form the new community of Pelkum. This 40.65 km² large community with 25,337 inhabitants was dissolved again by the municipal reform with effect from January 1, 1975 and incorporated into the independent city of Hamm .

Streets

The district roads K 13 and K 35 cross the former municipal area.

The K 13 connects Weetfeld with Pelkum and Wiescherhöfen as well as with Freiske, the K 35 with the northern Wiescherhöfen (former colliery Heinrich-Robert ) and with Bönen.

Transportation

Weetfeld is served by line 83 of Stadtwerke Hamm (Ziegelei stop). It connects the place with Hamm and Selmigerheide.
