Lerche is located in the west of the city of Hamm, directly on the A1 .

The settlements Neustadt (in the northwest) and Kerstheide (north of the core town) belong to Lerche.

In 1967, Lerche bordered the communities of Sandbochum , Herringen and Pelkum (all to Hamm), Nordbögge (to Bönen ), Rottum (to Kamen ) and Overberge (to Bergkamen ) in a clockwise direction to the north .

history

Lerche part in the establishment of offices in the Prussian province of Westphalia to the Office Pelkum in district Hamm . On the occasion of the city of Hamm on April 1, 1901, the district became the district of Hamm. After an area expansion in 1929, this was renamed the Unna district in October 1930 .

On January 1, 1968, the communities of Herringen, Lerche, Pelkum, Sandbochum and Weetfeld and parts of Wiescherhöfen were merged to form the new community of Pelkum. This 40.65 km² large community with 25,337 inhabitants was dissolved by the municipal reform with effect from January 1, 1975 and incorporated into the independent city of Hamm .

The L 654 connects Lerche with Kamen and Pelkum, the L 664 with Bergkamen and Hamm (via Pelkum).

Transportation

Lerche is served by the T 3 taxi bus from Stadtwerke Hamm . It connects the place with Pelkum.
