Freiske is still a rural district of the Westphalian town of Hamm .

Freiske is located in the south of the city of Hamm. The A 2 cuts through the former municipal area.

Neighboring communities

In 1967, Freiske bordered in a clockwise direction in the northwest on the communities Weetfeld , Berge , Rhynern and Osterflierich (all today to Hamm) and Osterbönen (today to Bönen ).

history

Freiske part in the establishment of offices in the Prussian province of Westphalia to the Office Rhynern in district Hamm . On the occasion of the city of Hamm on April 1, 1901, the district became the district of Hamm. After an area expansion in 1929, this was renamed the Unna district in October 1930 .

On January 1, 1968 the communities Allen, Freiske, Hilbeck, Osterflierich, Osttünnen, Rhynern, Süddinker and Wambeln were merged to form the new community Rhynern. However, this only lasted until December 31, 1974, on the following day it was divided: Freiske moved with the main part of this community (6187 inhabitants, who lived on 44.79 km 2 ) in the independent city of Hamm. The Hilbeck district (9.96 km 2 with 856 inhabitants) was reclassified to Werl in the Soest district .

Streets

The state road L 667 connects Freiske with Rhynern and Bönen .

The district road K 3 leads to Hamm and Osterflierich, the K 13 branching off from this road to Weetfeld and Wiescherhöfen .

Transportation

Freiske is not connected to local public transport. The most easy to get to is the Ziegelei stop, which is served by line 83 of Stadtwerke Hamm .
