Rhynern [ ˈriːnɐn ] is a district of the Westphalian city of Hamm . It is located in the city district of the same name .

Rhynern is in the south of the city of Hamm. It has a connection to the A 2 .
Neighboring communities
The former municipality of Rhynern bordered in 1967 in a clockwise direction in the northwest on the municipalities of Berge , Westtünnen , Osttünnen , Hamm , Osterflierich and Freiske (all today to Hamm).
In 1974 the enlarged municipality of Rhynern bordered clockwise in the north, beginning with the city of Hamm and the municipalities of Uentrop (at that time in the Unna district ), Welver and Werl (both in the Soest district ) and Unna , Bönen and Pelkum (all in the Unna district at that time ).
history
Rhynern part in the establishment of offices in the Prussian province of Westphalia to the Office rhynern in district Hamm . On the occasion of the city of Hamm on April 1, 1901, the district became the district of Hamm. After an area expansion in 1929, this was renamed the Unna district in October 1930 .
On January 1, 1968 the communities Allen, Freiske, Hilbeck, Osterflierich, Osttünnen, Rhynern, Süddinker and Wambeln were merged to form the new community Rhynern. However, this only lasted until December 31, 1974, on the following day it was divided: The main town Rhynern moved with the main part of this community (6187 inhabitants, who lived on 44.79 km 2 ) in the independent city of Hamm. The Hilbeck district (9.96 km 2 with 856 inhabitants) was reclassified to Werl in the Soest district .

Streets
In addition to the A 2, which is mainly used for long-distance traffic, there are other nationally important roads. These are the federal road B 63 to Hamm and Werl, the state road L 667 to Bönen and Uentrop and the state road L 669 to Scheidingen and Klotingen.
Transportation
Rhynern is mainly served by lines 21 and 22 of Stadtwerke Hamm and the regional line R 41 of the Ruhr-Lippe transport association. While all lines start in the Hammer Center, only the R 41 leads via Rhynern to Werl.
