Werner Dissel
Werner Dissel (born August 26, 1912 in Cologne , † January 22, 2003 in Wildpark-West near Potsdam ) was a German actor and director. He played in films such as Saxony's Glanz and Prussia's Gloria and Coming Out .
Life
In the 1930s Dissel worked as a photo journalist and graphic artist. During this time he belonged to the group that had formed around the journal Der Opponent , published by Franz Jung and Harro Schulze-Boysen . From 1935 he worked with Walter Küchenmeister on the resistance newspaper Wille zum Reich .
Werner Dissel was imprisoned by the Gestapo from 1937 to 1939 because he had joined an anti-fascist movement. In 1942 he escaped the wave of arrests against the Berlin resistance group Rote Kapelle only thanks to the steadfastness of his friends.
After serving in the army in a meteorological unit and the end of World War II, he joined the KPD and found his way back to the stage in Wiesbaden as a set designer and cabaret artist . In 1950 he moved to the GDR , where he worked as an actor and director. From 1960 to 1979 he appeared in the Berliner Ensemble .
In October 1986 Dissel received the GDR Art Prize as a collective.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Dissel appeared in television series such as For all cases Stefanie (2001) and Polizeiruf 110 . From his late colleague Wolfried Lier , he took over the leading role of Wilhelm in the series Immenhof in 1993 .
