Wilhelm Leopold Sigismund Samuel von Knobloch (born October 4, 1794 in Wehlau , † February 16, 1854 in Erfurt ) was a Prussian major general .

Wilhelm was the son of Johann Ludwig Samuel von Knobloch (1765–1799) and his wife Albertine Friederike, born von Zitzewitz († 1833) from the House of Notzkow . His father was a Prussian Premier Lieutenant a. D. , most recently in the "von Werther" dragoon regiment and Mr. auf Wangotten .

Military career

Knobloch joined the Prussian Army as a gunner in the East Prussian Artillery Brigade in June 1810 and took part in the battles near Eckau, Kyopen, Dahlenkirchen and Piktupönen as an ensign during the campaign against Russia . At the end of February 1813, he was promoted to second lieutenant . As such, Knobloch participated in the wars of liberation in 1813/15, the sieges of Wittenberg and Saarlouis and the battles near Bautzen , Katzbach , Leipzig , Montmirail , Laon , Paris , Ligny and Waterloo .
