Willibald Freiherr von der Goltz (born August 8, 1829 in Bischofsburg , † January 10, 1899 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian major general .

Willibald was a son of the Prussian captain Wilhelm von der Goltz (1773-1831) and his wife Karoline, born von Woisky (1792-1850) from the house of Basien. The Lieutenant General Moritz von der Goltz (1820-1881) was his older brother.

Military career

Goltz attended the city ​​school in his hometown and the cadet houses in Bensberg and Berlin .
