Yoshitaka Kuroda

Yoshitaka Kuroda (born January 10, 1987 in Yamagata ) is a Japanese racing car driver . He has been competing in the Auto GP since 2013 .

Career

Kuroda began his motorsport career in karting . In 2005 he switched to formula racing and competed in two Japanese Formula Toyota races . In 2006 Kuroda left Asia and started in Europe in the German Formula BMW for Mücke Motorsport . He was 21st overall. In 2007 Kuroda returned to Asia and contested four races in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge. In 2008 he competed in the Asian Formula Renault 2.0 for the Asia Racing Team . With three podium finishes, he finished the season in fifth place. Internally he was defeated by Rio Haryanto with 107 to 121 points.

In 2009 Kuroda received a cockpit in the Japanese Formula 3 championship at KCMG . With five tenth places as the best results, he was seventh in the national class. 2010 Kuroda contested his second Japanese Formula 3 season for KCMG. With a seventh place as the best result, he was eighth in the national class.

In 2011 Kuroda moved to Europe again. He competed in Formula Abarth for a joint project between Euronova and Fortec . With a second place as the best result, he was twelfth in the European ranking. In addition, he won the national-Italian ranking. However, he was also the only participant in this category. In 2012 Kuroda competed for the Euronova and Fortec team in the Italian Formula 3 championship . With a fifth place as the best result, he finished the season in tenth place. Internally he was defeated by Sergei Sirotkin with 62 to 166 points.

In 2013 , Kuroda received a cockpit in the Auto GP at Euronova Racing . While his teammate Kimiya Satō was runner-up, Kuroda reached 16th overall.
