Dingli is a place and an administrative unit in Malta . The place is at an altitude of 240 meters above sea level, making it the highest in Malta. Dingli is located about 13 km west of the capital Valletta and two kilometers from the next town, Rabat .
Dingli is known for the Dingli Cliffs (cliffs of Dingli), the enigmatic cart tracks and the nearby largest contiguous wooded area in Malta, the Buskett Gardens .
The name Dingli is traced back to Sir Thomas Dingley, an English knight of the Order of Malta who owned large estates in the area.
In the village of Dingli, the churches of St. Mary and Mary Magdalene are worth mentioning.
