The First Division 1974/75 was the 72nd season of the top Belgian division in men's football . It began on August 17, 1974 and ended on May 11, 1975.

mode

The KBFV decided in 1974 to enlarge the first division to 18 clubs. The transition was made in three phases. This season was played with 20 clubs, 1975/76 with 19 clubs and 1976/77 with 18 clubs.

The 20 teams played against each other twice on a total of 38 match days, divided into a first half and a second half. The last three clubs were relegated and were replaced by two teams in the following season.
